WTG recently worked with a
large client that had sophisticated high availability systems in place
at their IT center and disaster recovery supported through a vendor
hotsite subscription. Several vendors were already involved in
providing this client’s contingency capabilities. When WTG
reviewed the client’s total contingency program across the full
continuity spectrum (from high availability through continuous
operations to recovery) we found a number of areas that needed to be
re-architected or optimized. The result—WTG saved the client nearly 20
million dollars in costs over seven years against their existing
program. In addition to these cost savings, the client gained
disaster-resistant, continuous operating capabilities not inherently
provided for in any of the original vendor solutions.
